Bartosz Glowacki is one of the leading lights of a new generation of accordionists. He graduated from The Royal Academy of Music with distinction and Dip RAM.

Bartosz won the Polish Young Musician of the Year in 2009, following which he represented Poland in the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition in Vienna. Here, he performed Mikolaj Majkusiak’s “Concerto Classicco” for accordion and symphony orchestra in the grand finale with the ORF Vienna Symphony Orchestra. He is a recipient of The Countess of Munster Musical Trust, John Hosier Special Award 2015 and Zygmunt Zaleski Foundation.

As a soloist he has performed in many prestigious concert halls and has premiered compositions by Luke Bedford, Richard Causton, Laurence Osborn, Mischa Tangian, Phil Venables, Richard Ayres, Christopher Austin, Maciej Zimka, Marko Nikodijevic, Diana Burrell and Johannes Schöllhorn.

As well as being a soloist, Bartosz is extremely active chamber musician. He is a founding member of The Deco Ensemble, described as an “exceptional ensemble of the highest caliber”, with a “strong and highly individual voice”. Deco Ensemble’s debut album ‘Encuentro’ was released in July 2015 featuring works of modern tango composers.

During his career he collaborated with many great musicians such as Nigel Kennedy, Trevor Pinnock, Rob da Bank, Atom String Quartet, Meccorre String Quartet and Dave Maric. Bartosz has worked with The Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet, National Theatre, London Symphony Orchestra, The Chroma Ensemble, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonia Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Welsh National Opera, The City of London Sinfonia, The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Sinfonia Varsovia, ORF Symphony Orchestra and many others. With these institutions, he has performed multiple new operas and orchestral works, which feature the accordion in several different styles.

 

Born in Moscow and raised in Australia, Andrey Lebedev is one of the most successful guitarists of this generation. This year he has been a featured artist in the Canberra International Music Festival, performing 5 concerts over 6 days, featuring new premieres and collaborations with local musicians, as soloist.

His extensive solo repertoire includes important works from the late twentieth century, and he has given the world premieres of major compositions by Peter Sculthorpe and Brett Dean, and under the auspices of the Julian Bream Trust, both Leo Brouwer and Sir Harrison Birtwistle.

A keen chamber musician, Andrey performs regularly with mezzo-soprano Lotte Betts-Dean, flautist Bronte Hudnott, and more recently has begun working with violinist Emily Sun.

Andrey completed postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music studying under Michael Lewin. During his studies he worked with guitarist Julian Bream to present an evening solo recital at St Johns Smith Square, and with guitarist John Williams on an evening concert of Australian chamber music with guitar in the Duke’s Hall. He was awarded an MA with distinction and Advanced Diploma, graduating with a Regency Award for notable achievement, the Academy’s David Russell Guitar Prize, and Recital Diploma. He gained his BMus degree with first class honours at the Australian National University in 2012 under Timothy Kain, in which year he became the only Australian to win first prize in the Adelaide International Guitar Competition, the first classical guitarist to receive the Australian National Fine Music ‘Young Performer of the Year’ Award, and the only classical guitarist to gain a Sydney Eisteddfod Instrumental Scholarship. After enrolling at the Academy in September 2013 he won first prize and the special Bach Prize in the 25th Gisborne International Music Competition open to all instrumentalists.
