We introduce Pinner Music Festival hearing from performers about themselves and their recitals, skilfully facilitated by Petroc Trelawny, one of the best-known voices on BBC Radio 3 – where he presents Breakfast. He was on the team for BBC TV’s coverage of the Coronation of King Charles III and the Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen. He has presented BBC Proms on radio & TV for over two decades and BBC’s annual broadcast of the Vienna New Year’s Day Concert. Last June he hosted his 13th BBC TV’s Cardiff Singer of the World. Petroc’s book Trelawny’s Cornwall – a Journey through Western Lands (Weidenfeld & Nicholson) is out in August.

Our Panel: Skaila Kanga will introduce the Royal Academy of Music Harp Ensemble which she founded, and their Dancing with Harps programme (Wednesday); violinists Amber Emson (Thursday) & Madeleine Mitchell (PMF25) will discuss the works by Beethoven, Franck & Ravel, and their performing perspectives. Friday’s French horn player George Strivens will talk about arranging Strauss’s Four Last Songs and playing the solo horn piece that Martin Bussey has drawn from A Brother Abroad (PMF21). As usual, the conversation between them all will range far and wide …

Violinist Madeleine Mitchell, who will play at PMF 2025, described by The Times as 'one of the UK's liveliest musical forces", has performed as soloist and chamber musician in 50 countries in a wide repertoire. Her recordings, nominated for awards, have topped the classical charts and she recently won a Royal Philharmonic Society award to make a film in the programme she curated for the V&A Fabergé exhibition with her quartet, London Chamber Ensemble, which she founded.
